Sean O’Keeffe has been playing bass since 2005. He received his BA in Music from the University of North Georgia in December of 2015. Sean spent most of his time at UNG pursuing Jazz Studies under the tutelage of Tim Aucoin, Andy David, John David, and Tony Carere. In addition to studying jazz, Sean spent four years in the UNG Indoor/Golden Eagle Band as a front ensemble bassist (2011-12), conductor (2012-13), and lead trumpeter (2014-16). In the 2015-16 season, UNG Indoor competed seriously in WGI Winds competitions for the first time and achieved 4thplace at World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.
Outside of school, Sean has worked hard to gain as much live performance experience as possible. He has been able to work with many local bands and ensembles with diverse styles (rock, punk, blues, country, Christian, pop, funk, jazz, and orchestral). Post-graduation, Sean continues to play bass professionally, works with local marching bands as a brass and visual tech, and works as a bass, jazz improvisation, and music theory instructor at Ponce De Leon Music.
