Mr. Ray Tammetta is a professional musician and graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He studied piano with the well-known and respected composer of the Bastien music method books, James Bastien. Ray has a degree in Music Therapy and is a certified teacher of instrumental music in the state of Louisiana. Furthermore, he taught music at the high school and elementary levels for seven years. He has been a church organist for thirty years and has performed with the New Orleans Pops and the New Orleans Civic Symphonies. Presently he performs musically with several swing bands and various local ensembles.
Ray is an enthusiastic teacher that believes in creating an individual program to cater to each student's musical interests. He is well versed in a variety of instruments and uses his experience to relay the concepts of music to students of all ages and abilities. Music theory, song writing & arranging, improvisation, conducting, sight reading, chords & harmony, and music appreciation are among the skills that Mr. Tammetta covers throughout his instruction.
